This is for Brian. He gave me his mini camera to mount on the helicopter. He wanted to see me crash. Well here is all I have for you. The original spec Heli's weight is 297g. Mine with the mod is 310g. With the camera and battery for camera its now 399g. The Heli is having trouble moving this much weight. It was designed for a weight around 300g. Anyhow, here is the video.
At 3pm I tried the original plastic blades which have a 12 degree pitch so we might get more lift than the current wooden ones of 8 degrees. This made no difference. Went out to buy another battery (it turned out to be lighter). Weight now 385g. I got more lift - atleast 1/2 metre. Unfortunately the video was bad - should have checked the video calibration. Not sure what to do now! Need to get the weight down but not much I can reduce. Hopefully with no wind I can get more lift. Otherwise I need to figure out how to power the camera from the lipo.
